Once the application is reviewed, deemed complete, and the case is opened the Court will provide the Personal Representative endorsed copies of the docket, including six certified copies of the Letters of Administration or the Letters Testamentary. These forms are used to prove that the Personal Representative appointed by the Probate Judge has legal authority to take care of all matters pertaining to the decedent's estate. Applicants also have the option of opening probate cases at the Doña Ana County Third Judicial District Court, 201 W. Picacho Ave., Las Cruces, NM 88005. A docketing or filing fee of $132 is due at the time of application, to open the case.

The District Court does not offer probate packets for Pro Se probate cases. Applicants may find and download the forms in the "Forms" tab at left, on this webpage. Application packets may also be purchased at the Dona Ana County Probate Court for $5.00. All Pro Se forms provided by the Doña Ana County Probate Court may be used at the Third Judicial District Court, once the hearing is changed on all forms to:
